Programs
Eagles volunteer Program
This organization runs a volunteer program for teens and adults. Their programs are geared to help the needy communities in the country. Eagles volunteer program last from two to 48 weeks and will provide you with a unique opportunity to make friends, boost your confidence, and make a lasting impact on a community. They begin by giving you language and culture lessons to give you an understanding of the communities you will be interacting with before you get the chance to work on any volunteer activities. Community Outreach
We transform lives and change communities by reaching out to young people with the Gospel truth using what they love doing! In the mission fields, our staff initially steps on the field and theatres with community members providing sports Training, athletics and performing arts, sharing the Truth of the Gospel, and building TRUSTING relationships. As relationships develop, our staff step off the field to go Deeper into lives through mentoring, to meet emotional, practical and spiritual needs through Discipleship, and to equip people for the purpose of DEPLOYING the next generation of servant leaders.
Talent Festival
ROYSTA delights in transforming lives of young people and building the kingdom of God through molding and showcasing talents. ROYSTA holds annual talent festivals that attract thousands and thousands of young people from schools, colleges, universities and churches. The Talent Festival dubbed ‘Talanta Mashinani’ is held from 9th to 14th December every year.
The Talent Festival which is held annually is geared towards achieving the following objectives:
1. To celebrate and encourage young people to leverage on their talents in Sports, Athletics, Music, Dancing and Beauty Pageants. Young people come up with mind-blowing performances.
2. To engage the youth in constructive and meaningful activities to eradicate teenage pregnancies, drug abuse, alcoholism and gender-based violence. A big percentage of youth in Kenya are struggling with at least two out of the above mentioned vices.
3. Building and National Building.
4. To create an opportunity for the youth to competitively win prizes and use their talents for impactful investment, poverty eradication and self-employment.
As a matter of fact, Kenya as a nation is witnessing a rapid increase in gender-based violence on daily basis among youth in abusive relationships leading to pre-mature deaths. Most cases of gender based violence are meted by male partners who end up brutally murdering their female lovers. Besides, the rate of deaths among youth due to Suicidal incidences from relationships gone sour is another worrying trend being experienced in Kenya today! We are slowly losing a generation of young people who are supposed to be future leaders and community changers. The Talent Festival targets youth from churches, sportsmen, youth in businesses and students from universities, colleges and schools.
CURRENT PROJECT
Help Us Build a Community Library (Our goal $20,000)
The Community Library Project believes all people should have access to books. We are a low-cost, citizen-led initiative. We are committed to the work of building the movement for a publicly owned, free library system that is accessible to all. The library will help boost literacy levels among the youth in the communities where we operate. This initiative will ensure access to quality education and improve academic performance of the young people in the communities. The library will serve as a community hub and meeting place. The Community Library will offer a place for oral histories and storytelling and will help create ties and partnerships between community members and our organization.
HIV/Aids Awareness
The HIV Prevention Programme which is the one and the only ROYSTA project of the HIV Pillar, has the overall objective of strengthening the national response to HIV and AIDS, specifically it aims to make the youth and communities (ROYSTA zones) whether national or local, responsible for halting the spread of HIV and AIDS amongst high risk populations and mitigate the impact
